The PNV has used the Alderdi Eguna to invoke competences: "Patience is over."
  • Urkullu said that the Government of Spain "owes the Basque Country" to fully comply with the Gernika Statute, and Ortuzar reiterated the request, referring to Sánchez: "Patience is running out, we want skills right away," added lehendakari.

In Foronda (Vitoria-Gasteiz), the PNV has once again made an exhibition of strength with ikurriñas. As every year, the Jeltzales held there the Alderdi Eguna, where thousands of people have congregated throughout the day. The event was presided over by the speeches of lehendakari, Iñigo Urkullu, and EBB President Andoni Ortuzak.

Both have agreed on the need for greater self-government for the Basque Country, maintaining the direction that has been taken so far. Despite acknowledging that the self-government paper "is making progress", as it did in the Basque Parliament, Urkullu stressed that the priority now is to comply fully with the Gernika Statute. In the same vein, Ortuzar said. The lehendakari, Pedro Sánchez, has approached the head of the Spanish Government and asked him to take the leap from words to deeds.

Although it has not made any direct connection with the competences, it has warned the partisans that it is possible that the Spanish elections will also be held this political year, so it has asked its colleagues to be prepared: "We are not afraid of elections," added the leader of the popular.

Ortuzar warned that from there, the bases agreed with EH Bildu for the new Statute need an agreement with the other political parties. He has insisted that what is agreed in the Basque Parliament will then also have to be agreed with the central government and has therefore considered that the agreement should be broader than it is now.

Looking to the future, Urkullu has advocated a "Europe without borders" in which "shared sovereignty" becomes "a divided Europe". To this end, he has advocated international recognition and has considered that the best way to do so is through "contributions" that contribute to achieving such recognition. In his opinion, to have a voice of its own at the international level, it is necessary to make known "Euskadi-Basque Country".

For all this, Urkullu has a tool: "the constant effort in the construction of actions". Thus is the nation, in its opinion, by action, without "looking at the moon", with "legs on earth and gaze on the world". It has therefore appreciated the work carried out by the Basque Government: "our self-government is stronger today; we are growing and creating jobs; social policies are guaranteed..."

The Catalan politicians imprisoned and exiled, and the Catalans, have been reminded at the time. For them they have called for freedom and, once again, Urkullu has called for dialogue to resolve the conflict in the country.
