Jeltzales have published a tweet in which they have only written a tweet in Spanish. They say the following:
"We at the PNV express our surprise at the way in which the Spanish Government has adopted and communicated this measure to paralyse all "non-essential actions", without specifying what are and what are the criteria of the experts who support it.
Last Wednesday, a package of measures against the #COVID19 was voted on in the Congress of Deputies, and that day it was said that this measure was not necessary.
Yesterday, the Spanish Government assured us that this measure would not be taken. In addition to some areas of government, we were asked to show support to the Government when it defended that attitude. Today, surprisingly, they have completely changed their minds.
It does not even seem very acceptable how this decision has been taken. We know that the measure has been known to the social partners shortly before what has been announced.
A far-reaching measure was announced the day before the holding of a new videoconference with the regional presidents and has been made public through the media.
We will not hide our concern at the excessive unilaterality and the respect and lack of communication of the Government of Spain with the institutions, agents and parties that we are acting with total loyalty. We do not see this attitude properly.
The measure, in itself, will be assessed when we know it in detail, especially the real impact of "non-essential activity", which is a question that thousands of Basques and Basques are asking today.
