The Durango Fair will offer 930 news and 250 cultural events
  • The organization was clear that after two dark years the Fair was going to explode. From 7 to 11 December, 176 participants will make their work available to culture enthusiasts, and 34 of them for the first time. It will not be the only news: December 9 will be “Gazte eztanDA!”.

57 57. The Durango Fair, which is being heated, explodes from 7 to 11 December with over 930 news and 250 cultural events. After two years in which the cultural appetite for the pandemic has not been entirely satisfied, the Fair has recovered the number of pre-pandemic interventions. Landako Gunea will host 248 exhibitors, with 176 cultural agents, in addition to maintaining the online store launched in the last editions from 7 to 10 December. The catalog is already available on the website of the fair.

“EztanDA!” is this year’s motto of the Durango Fair. “The Basque culture will be present in this edition,” explains Gerediaga coordinator Beñat Gaztelurrutia, in a press conference to present the program and the main news of the Fair. 689 books, 141 musical products, 46 magazines and 54 others (audio-visual, stationery, etc.) will be made available to the body builders, both those who have already participated in the past and the 34 participants who for the first time are on the other side of the Fair counters. On the other hand, the Autoproducer Square will also have 15 cars.

On December 7, thousands of schoolchildren will start the Fair. Although the entrance will be open to all the public, the workshops have targeted students on Student Morning. For the first time, yes, workshops will also be offered to educators.

This year, for the first time, on 9 December the “Gazte eztanDA!” event will be held, in which various activities aimed at young people will be organised. At 14:00 there will be a lunch in which each person will have to bring their food from home; at 17:00 a Jincan will be organized in the EuskarAbentura initiative; and at 19:00 hours the electrocarbons ElektroPottote and OstiKda will make the streets of Durango enjoyable.

Cultural events of all kinds will take place during the fair: Over 250. The full daily program is available on the web. They shall be organised in the usual spaces: Saguganbara, Iruenea, Szenatokia, Ahotsenea, Kabi@ and Talaia. In addition, the Durango Museum of Art and History will be used.

Each space will be the scene of a certain type of activity. The Saguganbara shows will be aimed at families, where you will be able to enjoy audio-visual events such as the film “Irati” by Paul Urkijo on 10 December; at the Szenatoki there will be performing arts in which the inaugural event of the first day will take place at 19:00; in Ahotsenea the music will take place and in the Music School will take place.

Finally, the Landako Gunea Hall of Acts will host the Kabi@ and Talaia spaces. The first will be used for presentations related to the digital world on 7 and 9 December. The Atalaya, for its part, will welcome, on 8 December, the presentation of the dissemination works for the most part, and will guide reflections on different cultural themes, such as the reflection of young creators on the transformative culture.

The organisation has recovered the bus service for the fair, which from 8 to 11 December will offer free buses connecting the area of Landako with the parking areas of the area. From 10:30 to 20:00, every 20 minutes. The organization requests public transportation to go to the fair.
