On Wednesday, a neighbor of Zumarraga, with a criminal record, stabbed Pilar Berrio, 43 years old and neighboring Vitoria-Gasteiz, in Murchante (Navarra), where he has resided for the past four years. The alleged murderer, the former boyfriend of the victim's sister, fled and was arrested. Since then, the Foral Police of Navarra and the Ertzaintza have been responsible for carrying out the work.

At noon this Thursday, the Ertzaintza has found the vehicle in which the alleged murderer was travelling in Legazpi. As confirmed by the Department of Security, a camouflaged vehicle of the Ertzaintza (SEAT León azul) has been stolen at Donostia-San Sebastián and, after tracking that vehicle, has been located and detained in the Guipuzkoan capital.

The aggression took place at 10:24 hours on Wednesday, at kilometer 4.6 of road NA-6840. The man, who has been arrested, has also beaten the two sons of the woman present with the vehicle of the victim. The car that Pilar was driving left the road, when the aggressor took advantage of it to approach the victim and stab several stab wounds.

In 2021, there have been four Machian murders in Euskal Herria, with a total of 111 since 2003.

City Council Conviction

The Spokesman's Board of the City of Vitoria-Gasteiz met this Thursday in Vitoria-Gasteiz. Also attended were the deputy general of Álava, the president of the General Boards of Álava, the president of Emakunde, the sub-delegates of the government and representatives of other institutions, among others.

On the other hand, as in any Machista assassination in Euskal Herria, the feminist movement has activated the protocol of the World March of Women of Euskal Herria, so that in the next few hours there will be mobilizations against male violence in the capitals and villages. The mobilisation of Vitoria-Gasteiz will take place on Friday, 9 a.m., at 19:00 a.m. in General Loma Square.
