- The Youth Assembly of the Old Party (AZGA) has denounced the action of the Municipal Police of Donostia-San Sebastián against several young people in the neighborhood: “Several young people from the neighborhood played soccer in the Plaza de la Trinidad, until the Municipal Police approached and gave the order to identify all those threatened. Knowing this situation, many young people came close to protecting those present and when we began to ask the Police to let them out of the square, the Municipal Police officers threw themselves hard by beating and hurting many of us.” The complaint has been made via a video showing the facts, which you can see here.
According to the National Institute of Citizen Security (AZGA), "a young man was arrested and taken to court on Tuesday at noon. He has been charged with public disorder and injury, has had to admit him to a false accusation based on lies and has been sentenced to the authority for attack, sentenced to four months in prison.”
In addition to what happened on Monday night, the assembly has denounced the “presence, monitoring and identification” of the Ertzaintza throughout the day in the festive enclosure of the pier’s charms and in the streets of the Old Party: “They want a submissive and silent youth, while the repressive forces act with total impunity. That is why we call for the criminalisation of youth and the collective response to repression.”
