- The monolith was placed in Barañáin in 2017 in tribute to Karmele Solaguren. The 36-year-old man woke up this morning with a white spray cross.
==Death==Karmele Solaguren, a resident of Barañain, died in a traffic accident that took place on the road to Madrid in December 2004. In June 2017, the Karmele goan initiative led the town to erect a monolith in its memory. They report being assaulted, with a white cross painted with spray.
It is not the first monument defending Karmele Solaguren. A monolith powered by the same initiative was installed in 2007, but later the City Council decided to withdraw it.
