Haitian Prime Minister Resigns After Protests Against Austerity Measures
- Haiti’s Prime Minister Jack Guy Lafontant has resigned after the International Monetary Fund’s forced austerity measures sparked strong protests in the country. Specifically, they tried to raise the price of gasoline last week, which caused a lot of anger.
