- Xiberoa, Lapurdi and VI. The final of the Bertsolaris Championship of Euskal Herria will be held on November 13 in San Juan de Luz. There they will sing these six bertsolaris: AMETS Arzallus Antia, Odei Barroso Gomila, Maddalen Arzallus Antia, Maddi Ane Txoperena Iribarren, Patxi Iriart Etorbidea and Miren Artetxe Sarasola. The txapela will be put by Andoni Iturrioz, patrons of Basque culture.
The championship started well in 2020, but was suspended due to the state of health. The organizers explained that this year Xilaba’s programmes had less audience than usual: "The requirement for a medical certificate and the simultaneous organization of initiatives by other organizations after the prohibitions related to the state of health have probably influenced," the same sources said.
From 17:00 a.m., the six bertsolaris will sing twelve scored bertsos in the final to be held at the Kanpos Berri Jai fronton of Donibane Lohizune. Then the two bertsolaris that have obtained the most points to date will face one and another fifteen bertsolaris will be able to live on.
