Alfredo de Miguel, Koldo Otxandiano, Iñaki Telleria and Xabier Sánchez, former PNV leaders, will be forced to imprison for a corruption case known as the De Miguel case.

In the trial, El diario notes that the economic damage caused by irregularities in the Youth Department has been applied restrictively. The defendants in the Miguel case must return to the Autonomous Communities the amount of EUR 146,230,80.

In the case of Sanchez, the Provincial Court and the Supreme Court have pointed out that the former Director of Youth would seek to justify irregular contracts with an alleged official document of the Basque Government, which was officially sealed. The seals did not have the entry registration code or correspondence with the book containing the documents arriving at the Administration.

Condemnation of those involved

Alfredo de Miguel, a former member of the Executive Committee of the PNV of Álava, must enter prison for twelve years, four months and fifteen days, with a maximum penalty of nine years in prison. To Xabier Sánchez, seven years, one month and 15 days of sanction.

Former chief Koldo Otxandiano has been sentenced to seven years, six months and fifteen days, with a maximum of six years and nine months. Aitor Tellería has been sentenced to six years, one month and 15 days.

The Provincial High Court of Álava has warned the convicted persons that, if they do not appear before the Tribunal, the Security Forces will be arrested.
