- La Haine journalist Edurne Correa presents herself at noon on Tuesday before Judge Ismael Moreno refusing to testify. The hearing begins an investigation by the Twitter broadcast of the welcome of a prisoner accused of paying tribute to terrorism.
The Correo has communicated the completion of the declaration through social networks: “On the street, after passing through the exceptional court and exercising the right not to declare. It’s an absurd cause, they have nothing and it’s done ad hoc to chase La Haine and me.”
Representatives of the Union (SPM) in the Madrid Journalist have come to the courts to show their solidarity with Correa. They claim the right to information and report that Correa’s attorney has said “nothing” against the journalist. The decision to continue or suspend proceedings has been left to the judge by Moreno.
Tribute to terrorism
The National High Court has launched an investigation into Correa, accused of paying tribute to terrorism, by the twitter dissemination of a short video of the welcome of former Basque political prisoner Iñaki Etxeberria in December 2021. Haine has denounced that the procedure is contrary to rights of information and expression, as well as to Basque political prisoners.
