The film "Dantza" among the twenty Basque productions of the San Sebastian Film Festival
  • Among the Basque productions that will be present at this year’s San Sebastian Festival will be the film Dantza by Telmo Esnal. As reported last July, in the official section, the Zarautz director will perform a work that tells a story through dance, without dialogue or words, with the choreographies of Juan Antonio Urbeltz and the symbolic world that he has developed around Basque dance.

The presentation was attended by the director Telmo Esnal, Juan Antonio Urnegro, head of the production company Marian Fernández Chinchua, and several dancers and musicians who participated in the film. The Koldobika Palace, the third creative base of the project, which has taken care of the costumes and decorations, has not been able to exist.

Dantza is a project launched in 2014 and will premiere on September 24 at the Victoria Eugenia Theatre. Most of the scenes of the film were shot in different parts of the Basque Country and in Aragon during 2017 by members of Luz, Arkaitz, Dena, Astigar, Nuestro Kai, Elai Alai, Urki, Haritz, Preoccupation, Maritzulia, Aurtzaka, Dawn, Vigor, Orbeldi and Erketz. In total, more than 200 dancers danced.
