Dozens of agents and individuals have joined the self-incriminating campaign launched at the end of November to indict the immigration policies of Europe, France and Spain. They denounce ‘racist and murderous’ immigration policies and call for the removal of activists who will be tried on the day of the race to cross the border with 36 people in the migratory process. After the declaration of 1 October in the FAP of Hendaia, on 28 January in the Baiona Court 7 citizens will come to the charge of participating in an organized group and collaborating in the legalization of the border.
The trial against them is based on the action to cross the bridge between Irun and Hendaia on the day of Korrika 2024 with the 36 people who were in the migration process. In this regard, they have denounced that migration policies "destroy people" and have claimed that "we are a welcoming people" for the next 26 January.
As you recall, at least 9 people have died in the course of their migration process when crossing the Bidasoa border. European ‘racist and murderous’ migration policies have been responsible for this situation which has been organised within the J’accuse platform. Thus, it establishes racist controls and pursues the trajectory of migrants, condemning them many times to die,” they point out.
It is well known that in the vicinity of Irun and Hendaia there are hundreds of committed volunteers who organize solidarity and face brutal migration policies. They are activists committed to defending and building safe corridors against police harassment by political leaders and law enforcement officials. That is why, on the occasion of the trial, dozens of agents met and on 28 January the campaign was launched “to demand that migration policies and the authorities behind them should be in the dock of the accused”. J’accuse.
Physically, they have already received the support of over 1,000 citizens and social partners who have joined the initiative by providing their name and IND. They have anticipated that the day of the trial at 13:00 will be mobilized before the Baiona Court to bring all the self-accusations received to the court door. And that there are still possibilities for signing. In Irun they have called for the collection of self-accusation signatures at Plaza San Juan on Saturday, January 18, from 10:00 to 13:00. But there will also be an opportunity to join the massive mobilisation that will take place on 26 January. Two days before the trial, on 26 January, the demonstration will depart from Ficoba at 11:30 in the morning crossing the border with Hendaia. Several points in Euskal Herria, including Bilbao, Pamplona and Durango, have reported that buses are being organized from different points of the Basque geography. Those who so wish, and in the manner announced through the demonstration itself, will also be able to contribute to the financing of the campaign.
