The trade and investment agreement between Canada and Europe aims to facilitate economic relations between the two powers. However, it will not only affect the area of transactions; as its opponents have repeatedly denounced, special courts (known by the acronym ICS) will come from CETA to benefit multinationals, such as the so-called regulatory cooperation bodies, through which regulations approved by local organizations for the protection of workers’ rights, the health of citizens and the environment can be blocked.

According to a new report by the Corporate Europe Observatory research group, "CETA will compromise a wide range of public health, consumer and environmental standards and benefit lobbying groups."

Tomorrow, 15 February, the European Parliament will vote on the text in the Strasbourg plenary session. The mobilizations were aimed at denouncing the position of the parties that will vote yes. On the occasion of St. Valentine’s Day, the supposedly affectionate letters sent to CETA by the members of the PNV have been disseminated by the participants in the mobilization. Among other things, the letter denounces the loss of sovereignty of citizens for the benefit of the agreement between the EU and Canada.
