The five people carrying the cover face have declared a "reconstruction" of the Corsican armed organization FLNC (Corsica National Liberation Front) in the northeast area. According to Corse-Matin in a statement, the organization has announced that it will carry out "introductory actions" in the city. The aim is to avoid "the expected death of Corsica" and "maintain the historical commitments" of the FLNC.
The FLNC group, founded in 1976, exerted its influence on Corsica’s policy until 2010. About 11,000 attacks were attributed to it in four decades, and this year it is five years since the abandonment of weapons.
