An attempt to attack five journalists with explosives loaded USB devices in Ecuador
  • In Ecuador, Monday five explosive journalists were the destinations. As if they were USB devices, they were sent in envelopes, each in their writing or home. One of the journalists, Lenin Artieda, is injured when the device connects and explodes on the computer.

Using the same modus operandi, USB devices loaded with explosives were also collected in TC Televisión de la ciudad de Guayaquil and in Teleamazonas de Kit.

The Fundamedios association, which works for freedom of the press in the country, has denounced the attacks.

The Ecuadorian attorney general has said that he will launch an investigation into these terrorist attacks.
