In response to the demands of the local feminist movement, the City of Ondarroa awarded building number 1 of Artibai Street in 2013. This space, named Etxelila, is five years old this year, and with that excuse, a festival will be held on December 14.
As for the chabola route to this day, it must be celebrated. During these five years, various activities have been carried out within the framework of the School of Empowerment, one of the central axes of the space, in which nearly 500 women have participated. “Etxelila has become a reference space for women in Ondarroa and the Feminist Movement,” said the Ondarroa Municipal Council for Women’s Equality and the Department of Equality.
The celebration will be held on Friday, December 14, at the Etxelila itself. The Azala group has created the song for that day, and Uxue Alberdi has put the lyrics to the song. The Txakur Gorria collective, for its part, has created an image for the anniversary of the fight.
As for the programming of the festival, the Batukada Feminist Andrabanda will be in charge of launching the celebration, which will be presented by the clown Beatriz Egizabal Ollokiegi. For this day, Lorea Zulaika Arriaga, member of the Azala group, along with Goretti Serrano Akarrangi, of the Susuncordan group and Nerea Larrinaga Sánchez will offer an acoustic concert in which the dancer Amaia Cabero Saizar can also be seen live. Throughout the festival, members of the feminist movement and local women’s associations will also take the floor, and throughout this time you will be able to visit the Artestura Feministak exhibition. The collective txakur Gorria will make the graphic account of the celebration.
They've also made a video announcing the anniversary.
