From 12 a.m. to 6 a.m., the LABI has banned the encounters of non-living people in public spaces. The measure, which has been approved by decree, will enter into force on Friday, 16 July.

This measure aims to prevent agglomerations in parks, squares and other public spaces in the city during the night. The Basque Government will make it available to the municipalities to determine the areas in which agglomerations usually occur.

Urkullu has explained in several courses that are taking place in Vitoria-Gasteiz that the increase in cases is due to a "more contagious variant of the virus". According to the newspaper Berria, lehendakari also stressed the importance of not putting the mask on and called on the population to use the mask.

Increase of coronavirus

According to the latest data, in the CAV the cumulative incidence has been 377.89 people. This is the highest figure in the last nine months, the highest since October 2020. The community is about to move to the red zone if the cumulative incidence approaches 400 cases. In addition, the Bizi Berri IV contingency plan provides a scenario for 300 cases.

In Bizkaia, a cumulative incidence of 462 municipalities has been detected, of which seven are from the red zone. In Gipuzkoa, it is located in 463 municipalities, of which 14 are in the red area, including Donostia-San Sebastián. In Álava, the situation is better, as the cumulative incidence is 277. There are 7 municipalities in orange.

On this occasion, in addition to the implementation of the measures of the Plan, the present standard, issued by Decree, will be incorporated. A new meeting of the LABI will be held on 22 July to analyse the evolution of the cases.
