April makes people happy; it makes animal people, plant people and us happy. Many say that the atmosphere starts to warm up and that’s what turns us on. The plants say that the soil has begun to warm and that’s where the roast comes from. We, because the last Sunday of March has changed the time and prolonged the darkness. For me, but April is a story, a poem that flows between your fingers, but above all a little bit of sunburn that kisses you. It’s a bit of light for me in April, the light of the whole season, the new light, the light of the day that begins to be longer than the night. The light brings with it every year the inexplicable explosion of life in April.
LA LUZ turned the April light emotion into a happiness emotion ten years ago. On April 17, 2015, we published the book Huerta de Vida. By that time we had been landing community readers in the pile legally with the weekly article for 25 years.
Ten years have passed, not in vain. We've built a lot of red and rainy soils. We have clothed the vacant lands with the flesh of the earth, and have made them fruitful, and have made them a rough land, and have made them mature. And to awaken in people the pain of the earth, and to spread it from earth to earth.
Those of us who started working in this field and started developing the continuous harvest that we have today have been many in the Huerta de Vida for ten years: the workers of the LUZ of the time, the Antza printing house and the technology company Iametza, on the one hand. On the other hand, a network of qualified collaborators that has been expanding, who contribute from their own field and currently has more than 20 members: writers, photographers, illustrators, designers...
In some of those cases where this work of land has required an extraordinary excavation, a treatment, a creature, a pruning or an insertion, we have had many people as plots for concrete works.
It is a popular land, and we have been working in the neighborhood for these years with eleven agents of the primary sector of the Basque Country, trying to make the issue a priority that belongs to all of us.
Not even the thousands and thousands of citizens who have spent and welcomed these ten fruitful years of the Garden of Life can be left untouched. Now they have the opportunity to become part of the community and push the project as a whole.
Thank you all for a plow of land, for trying to make it easy for us to go through the sweet and unpleasant lands. For mastering the motto of our sect: give and take. Sor, give, take and create.
