They close the border of Biriatou for trucks for a serious fire and cause congestion

The fire in the Gironde department took place on 10 August and has burned more than 6,200 hectares. The fire expands quickly and reaches Landeta. There are about 1,000 firefighters in extinction. The fire again closes the Biriatou limit for the trucks.

On 10 August at 21:30 the way to the trucks opened and the next morning, this Thursday, they were closed again at 07:00. In addition to this cut, the A-63 is also closed for all vehicles starting at exit 9 in Saint Geours de Maremne. The French Minister for the Interior, Gerald Darmanin, has stated that the fire has been unleashed in different places and therefore believe that it has been intentioned.

Larhun and Angelu also closed

The Atlantic Pyrenees Department has ordered the closure of Mount Larhun due to fire hazard. Movement shall be prohibited until 12 August.

In addition, Angelun Pignada and Lazaret were closed by the City Hall of Anglet on 8 August. They have not yet said how long the two areas will be closed. After the fire of two years ago, they have been very vigilant and the present is the third closure of this year. In the 2020 fire, 165 hectares were burned.
