They denounce that a citizen who suffered racist aggression by the Bilbao Municipal Police will have to declare as defendant

The defendant, who has already been arrested, will testify in court on Thursday. The conveners have called for a concentration of support for sexual assault.

In a press release sent to the media by SOS Racism Bizkaia, he recalled what happened on 28 June. According to the association, he is a young man of Senegalese origin, 34 years old, identified as M.G. A Bilbao Municipal Police officer was walking from home to San Francisco Street, charged with no evidence of “you have marijuana.” The citizen twice denied the indictment and then the police asked him to identify it. When he replied that he had documentation in his house, a few meters away, the agent insulted M.G. with a shout of “arrogant black,” while pushing him. The detainee was transferred to police units between protests by local neighbours. No drug or marijuana was detected, but he is charged with a felony of serious resistance to the authority.

SOS Racism Bizkaia has denounced that aggression is a case of criminalization and racism and has underlined that abuses and police violence are not an isolated case. It has called on public institutions and policy makers to take action and, in relation to the specific case M.G.ren, “justice, recognition of responsibilities and reparation”.

On Thursday, repress concentration for the fire
