- On Monday, the Government will send TOA M-113 armoured vehicles to Ukraine using the port of Bilbao. It is the oldest armoured vehicle used for the transport of military personnel at the service of the Spanish Land Navy.
The delivery of TOA M-113 vehicles to Ukraine is an indicator of "commitment to peace", said Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles. It did not want to specify the number of vehicles it will send, but it will be decided "according to needs" and "in coordination with the allies".
The Defence Minister confirmed on Friday that he will also send Spanish Leopard tanks to Ukraine in spring. In this regard, the anti-militarist organization Kakkin has opposed this decision and has denounced the complicity of the PNV in supporting the remission of the tanks to Ukraine. The combat chains and filming instruments are manufactured by the Basque company SAPA, which received a guarantee of 9,000,000 euros from the Basque Government. It also denounces that the PNV presented an amendment in the Spanish Senate and proposed an additional €2,000,000 for the PID R&D Centre (SAPA). They denounce that the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa has donated millions of dollars to the company.
