Comparsas de Bilbao denounce "police violence" and "political censorship"
  • They denounce that their relationship with the City Hall has changed radically and that unlike last year they have suffered "attacks on the festival model of comparison". Among others, they denounce attacks on mantars, the elimination of political propaganda and threats from street policemen.

The Comparsas de Bilbao have attended a gastronomic event in which the mayor of Bilbao, Juan Mari Aburto, participated to denounce the attitude that the city council is taking during the Big Week. They explain that the city has launched a "concrete political strategy" against the popular, participatory, feminist and Euskaldun holiday model. By the way, they invite the bilbaiters to denounce the attacks they suffer.

They denounce a number of attacks that they consider "cannot be understood in isolation". They explain that in the pacifier, the pacifier, the pregonero and members of the party commission were explored upon entering the Arriaga theater and the pacifiers were removed. The "police tension" forced two members to stay out.

The following day, in the second of Aste Nagusia, it is clarified that the City Hall violated the freedom of expression: "They eliminated claims against Euskera and manteros, and the SOS Racism platform has explained to us that attacks on mantars have been repeated."

They also report on what happened on Sunday night: two people were repeating the attacks on the Kranba comparison, went to say that they were left with compassion and told them again with aggression: "When I wear the uniform I'm going to make you an unsustainable life, I'm going to kill you." Then one of these people was identified as Police, and to realize that riot police approached.
