The ESK trade union states: "With the number of people established to travel on Bilbobus buses it is impossible to maintain the minimum safe distance to avoid contagion." The passenger limits set in Bilbobus are as follows: 25 people for buses of 12 meters; 20 people for buses of 9 meters and 8 people for minibuses.

Safety of workers and users at stake

According to the union, "on numerous occasions, Bilbobus workers do not receive the material protection necessary to protect their health and properly perform their work without increasing the risk of contamination." It has also denounced that "cleaning protocols, which have been agreed with the company, are not satisfactorily complied with".

According to ESK, "appropriate measures have not been taken and protocols have not been properly implemented". This puts at risk the health and life of the workers and also of the users of this service that is considered essential".
