The National Court has sentenced a person from Iturmendi (Navarre) to two years in prison and has imposed a fine of EUR 2,700. Following several messages on the social network Twitter, the accused was cited for several accusations that are already known: It's called the "exaltation of terrorism" and "humiliation of victims."
Regarding several Twitter publications, UPN claimed for the defendant two years and one day in prison and an economic penalty of 4,500 euros for a crime of scam. The Public Prosecutor's Office called for two and a half years' imprisonment and a fine of almost EUR 7,000. Finally, the court has imposed a two-year prison sentence on him, so he will not be placed in prison.
The National Police arrested and incommunicado neighbouring Iturmendi in February of this year and transferred her to Madrid. The prisoner of eta has had to pay a bond of EUR 7,000 for civil liability in order to avoid prison.
For this Saturday, day 20, a mobilisation has been called in Iturmendi. Both of them will show solidarity with the accused and will be mobilised against repression and in defence of freedom of expression. The demonstration will start at 19:30 hours from the Plaza de la Comunidad Navarra.
