The braking system of the truck, which was performing road maintenance work in Mallabia by other workers of the company Elecnor, has been disabled for reasons that are investigated, which has caused the truck to travel more than 7 kilometers between Mallabia and Eibar, finally colliding with the machine used by the workers of Miramar to carry out their work. As a result of the impact, one of the workers has suffered very serious damage to their health and has had to be transferred to a hospital.

ELA has shown its support and solidarity to injured workers and their families. According to the union, according to the facts, the truck causing the collision was not in perfect condition: "It is clear that if it did not meet the appropriate safety conditions, it would not have to be used. Unfortunately, as a result of these breaches, the lives of two workers have been in grave danger."

ELA calls on companies to "comply with occupational health and safety legislation and, at the same time, public administrations to ensure and verify effective compliance with laws and standards so that workers can work without endangering their life or health".
