The Ba Gera association denounces the closure of 20 small shops in Donostia-San Sebastián in two months
  • The Ba Gera trade association has observed the closure of some twenty establishments between January and February in different neighborhoods of the city. They denounce that this is a problem that affects the whole city.

In Amara (furniture store Sagardia), Loiola (hardware store Olasagasti), Antigua (optics Bronte and Kbyos hairdressing), Centro (perfumery Luís Díaz, grocery store Lucas and cafeteria Aguirre), Gros (AER, shop Carmen zapata, Edolo, Errota Belardenda part. The situation is extremely serious and has particularly affected the case of Gros, which has been one of the neighborhoods where there have been most closures.

In a statement, they explained that they want to raise consumer awareness of the impact of their purchases: “Buying in ‘market places’ and in companies with registered offices outside our territory means the loss of tax resources, they are not concentrated in our city and province, and they cannot be used again for their improvement”.

On the other hand, they asked the institutions to intervene and stressed the need for a strategic plan to ensure "a city model that supports small trade".
