From four different points in the Biscay capital, the pensioners have come in columns to Plaza Moyua, arranged as the starting point for the demonstration. At 12:00 hours, the demonstration to the City Hall of the City of Guipuzkoan has begun. According to the organizers, some 35,000 people have gathered, who have participated in three marches.

Beyond Bilbao, mobilizations have also been carried out in Pamplona/Iruña and in several Gipuzkoan localities. In Vitoria-Gasteiz the mobilization will be in the afternoon, at 19:00, at the Artium. In Donostia-San Sebastián, for its part, the demonstration will be held on Saturday afternoon.

Pensioners have also met with the Spanish Minister for Employment, Migration and Social Security, Magdalena Valerio, to launch an appeal to keep the public pension system worthy. Europapress has received statements from Valerio stating that the Spanish Government "cannot commit" to establishing a minimum pension of EUR 1,080. The minister has assured us that, at the moment, the transfer of social security is not a priority for the Government.
