The Consistorial House must decide whether it will allow the construction of the ikastola of Beskoitz
  • The ikastola de Beskoitz consists of three prefabricated classrooms, and in order to respond to the welfare of the children and the need to develop the project, they have requested from the Casa Consistorial only authorization for the construction of a school center. They meet with the Municipal Council to report on their decision at the end of June.

The representatives of the ikastola Kazeta.eus explain to the students who come to the ikastola of Beskoitz that they cannot continue this way in the current conditions and that the opportunity to study, work and live in Euskera must be given.

The project started in 2013 with four children and this course has 51 students. The Casa Consistorial says that there is no need to extend the ikastola, that the solution is to reduce the number of students to 50. Instead of trimming, the ikastola says they want to develop. They recall that they are only asking for a construction licence, which will be the responsibility of Seaska to obtain the necessary financial resources to carry out the project.

Closing the doors to existing applications

This is not the first time they have asked for it. “We’ve talked about different roads: asking about some public rooms, asking about some private rooms, we’ve also collected private lands to rent them or buy them. They have analyzed us and given us each of the paths”. The decision on this new request will be communicated by the City Council at the end of June.

Claiming that “a real ikastola is worth it”, they have also launched a collection of signatures on the network to support it.
