The Basque Government has not taken into account the 4,500 appeals against the project for the construction of the alleged waste incinerator in Bergara by the company Valogreene, nor has it closed the appeal and the administrative route taken by the Municipality of Bergara.

The Arnasa platform of Larramendi has called for a demonstration because the government's decision "highlights the priority of the Basque Government: to commit to the economic interests of private companies over the health of citizens". The demonstration will take place on Sunday at 12:30 from St. Martin's Square.

According to this project, at least 155,000 tonnes of industrial waste will be incinerated in Bergara, who have promoted it claim that it is not an incineration, but a "pyrolosis", another technique for burning waste, as could not be otherwise: "Zubieta incinerators would only incinerate 7,000 less waste. How can it be defended by the environmental body when the raw material that will enter these facilities is classified as waste? they explained the members of the platform at a press conference. In this sense, they are concerned about the serious damage that occurs in the health area.

The Bergara City Hall has also been opposed to the project, but the "Tapia Law" can have a lot of weight to get the project through.
