“They threw two flares at our house last night. According to the testimonies there were 7-10 people who fled in two different cars. Nothing serious has happened, but it could have happened,” Ochandiano wrote on Wednesday evening. The attack took place around 1:00 p.m. in the village of Ochandio.

In addition to being responsible for Fagor’s sustainability, Ochandiano has spoken publicly on several occasions in conferences or in the media about the energy or renewable transition and has linked the attack with this action. “I’ve had threats and graffiti before in the context of the renewable debate, but I think that attacking my family in this way exceeds all limits,” he says.

Ochandiano has been confirmed in his position on renewables: “I don’t know if that was the reason for the attack, but in any case, I hold my position on this issue with conviction. The alternative to Trump’s fossil capitalism is an ecosocial transformation based on the fair and orderly expansion of renewables of all scales.”
