The principles of the Beijing World Conference on Women are based on the process that the initiative proposes to the joining actors, consisting of four steps: the creation of a motor group, the assessment of progress on equality over the past 25 years, the diagnosis of the current situation and the definition of the challenges and commitments for the next five years.

The ultimate goal is to achieve a great popular pact for a society free of violence against women. Among the Basque institutions participating in this pact are municipalities, educational centers, companies, associations, unions, universities…

Intergenerational transmission

Within the framework of the initiative, the Basque Youth Council and the Emakunde Advisory Council have carried out a pilot project: sharing transmission, information and intergenerational knowledge and the attempt to envision the future jointly. The pilot experience has brought together women between the ages of 25 and 75, who, based on the diversity of experiences, have identified what are the most important advances in equality in the last 25 years and where are the most pressing challenges for equality today.
