Barricada, power outages and moments of police tension on the 41st day of the Tubacex strike
  • On Tuesday, Tubacex’s workers have been on strike for 41 days, against the 129 redundancies that the management intends to impose. Dozens of workers concentrated from the first hour of the morning on access to the plants of Llodio and Amurrio. The police presence was high at both points and there were times of tension, although there were no incidents.

In Amurrio, the workers made a barricade at the entrance to the plant to make it difficult to access the bus for the workers of the management and offices. The police raided the workers and, taking advantage of the van, removed the containers that were stacked on the road.

In addition, the Ertzaintza has shattered the power cable that the City Council has made available to municipal employees. They did this at the time when a song was put against the police from the bafles of the pickets.

In any case, the moments of greatest tension occurred when the workers stood on the road in front of the bus and approached it. However, no incident was recorded and when the bus entered, all Ertzaintza patrols retired from the industrial estate, where they were mobilized by the fire brigade.
