The Socialist Housing Union of the Basque Country has reported on the activity of another unemployed company. On this occasion, the company Balkanguard tries to evict a family in Estella (Navarra). The family has been living for years on rent, but today its owner wants to expel from it and to do so uses a vacancy company. “We are facing an immediate danger of extrajudicial eviction,” the Socialist Housing Union has denounced.

In recent weeks the family has begun to suffer the pressure of the company to leave the house. In addition to receiving messages and calls, two Balkanself thugs went to the portal threatening residents in danger of dismissal and trying to force them to sign a document. Apparently, by signing this document, they undertake to leave the dwelling.

“The strength of these companies reaches where the law does not come,” says the Socialist Housing Union. He has denounced that in recent years, in addition to increasing the activity of these companies, the owners dismiss the tenants “à la carte”: to put on sale homes, to change the tenants and to be able to raise prices... “As the action of these fascist companies is another tool for accumulating profits, the administrations, the police forces and the judicial authorities do not hinder their action,” they stress.

Recently, last September, the Socialist Housing Union of the Basque Country reported that in Vitoria he was being harassed by another vacancy company.

Assembly

Union members have been ratified in their commitment to these companies. And they appeal to harassed citizens to contact the union. “It is essential to organise a Socialist Self-Defense in order to deal with unemployment companies,” they added.

The Estella Socialist Council will hold a meeting on Friday to inform and reflect on the situation in which the abovementioned family is situated. The meeting will take place at Gaztetxe Sugarra on 27 October at 19:00.
