On March 2, the Bureau of the Basque Parliament opened the door to the Popular Legislative Initiative for Unconditional Basic Income, by which the Basque Electoral Board can approve models and forms for obtaining signatures on paper and digital signatures. The committee promoting the initiative explained that, following this procedure, "it will be time to move around the towns and neighborhoods of the city".
The aim is to achieve the 10,000 signatures necessary for the ILP to move forward and to present itself in the Basque Parliament, "for the majority of the citizens to support it and for the majority to listen to it in the Parliament".
The social partners and institutions, as well as the citizens who join this initiative, have encouraged them to participate in the assemblies that are being set up to make this collection of mobilizations and signatures, "to support the process initiated and join forces, and to oblige the political parties with parliamentary representation to support it as a fundamental right for all citizens".
