On the initiative of Bake Bidea, they call for the exculpation of the pacifists ‘Txetx’ Etxeberri and Beatrice Molle-Haran
  • About 200 people have called for the exculpation of the pacifiers ‘Txetx’ Etxeberri and Beatrice Molle-Haran, who will be tried on 2 and 3 April, and want to proclaim that the ‘disobedience initiative’ was legitimate to channel ETA’s disarmament.

On Saturday the representation of the Basque society met in Luhuso, responding to the call made by Bake Bidea. On 16 December 2016, Mixel Bergouignan, Mixel Berhokoirigoin, Michel Tubiana and Jean-Noel ‘Txetx’ Etxeberri, with the help of Camera Stephane Etxegarai at Beatrice Molle-Haran, Luhushon, collaborated in the abolition of a set of EU weapons.

Mobilisations on 3 April

The Camino de la Paz has called for April 3 “To demand recognition of the parium for sustainable peace in Euskal Herria” to Maule, San Juan de Garazi, Baiona, San Sebastián, Bilbao, Vitoria and Pamplona “all those who join the multiple call for the definitive opening of a new era in Euskal Herria”. The call is at 12:00 in the four capitals of Hego Euskal Herria and at 19:00 in Ipar Euskal Herria. The hearing recalls the events of December 2016 and the long process followed.

Representation

The campaign, launched on 18 January with the support of the two defendants, has already gathered over 5,000 signatures. They have joined the manifesto calling for the exculpation of Etxeberri and Molle-Haran, eight former ministers, some 35 parliamentarians and dozens of judges.

The parliamentarians of Luhuson Paris, Vincent Bru, Max Brisson, Iñaki Echaniz and Frederique Espagnac, as well as the congressional member of Madrid, Mertxe Aizpurua, indicated that the issue against both peacemakers makes no sense.

The event was attended by the president of the Basque Association of Historic Helmets, Jean-Rene Etchegaray, and the members of political families with institutional representation. Among others, Daniel Oltzomendi vice-president and Peio Etxeleku, president of the IBB of the PNV.
