Azkoitia City Hall to be part of UEMA
- They have taken the decision with the favourable votes of the PNV, EH Bildu and Azkoitia Bai. The application for membership in the Commonwealth of Basque Municipalities (UEMA) has received a favourable vote from sixteen of the seventeen councillors that make up the Corporation.

The plenary session of the City of Azkoitia (Gipuzkoa) agreed on Thursday to be part of the Commonwealth of Basque Municipalities. It was a decision taken with broad consensus. Sixteen councillors from the seventeen members of the Azkoitia municipal corporation belonging to the groups PNV (7), EH Bildu (6) and Azkoitia Bai (3). The sole PSE-EE councillor votes against.
Azkoitia is the sixth municipality of Zeanuri, Mendexa, Berrobby, Hondarribia and Lezo that has applied to be part of UEMA since September. UEMA will hold its meeting open on Saturday in Orio, when they will accept the requests of the six peoples. 107 municipalities will be part of UEMA and among them will be an Basque territory of 342,000 inhabitants.
