Tubacex goes back at the last moment and workers don't have to go to factories
  • Yesterday afternoon, the management of the company ordered the workers to go to work. However, the workers who were going to work this morning have been ordered to stay at home, because the steel industry has not been considered an essential activity by the decree.

At midnight, in particular at 00:30 a.m., the Tubacex Group’s management sent a message to the workers to inform them that they should not go to the factories.

In fact, the decree published by the Government of Spain in the BOE does not include the steel industry as something essential, despite the widespread draft.

Therefore, most workers will stay in their homes and only those who are necessary to stop production in an orderly and secure manner and who guarantee critical demands that must end for some customers will have to go to their jobs.

The company itself has apologized to the workers for the late communication of the order, since until the publication of the decree the information has been "confusing".
