- They wanted to focus on the concerns of dance, transmission, sport and gender in the documentary Azken dantza Maisua, whose starting point was the dance teacher Xabier Sarriegi Pasatxo (1958-2021), who died last year, and which will be premiered on 3 June at 19:00 at the Usurbe Theatre in Beasain.
Pasatxo was an old-fashioned dance teacher. He has been the last master who has used the way of transmitting and teaching local dances in previous generations. From there and focusing on the figure of his dancer and footballer, the fifteen interviewees of the documentary have looked at the history of the dances of Beasain Loinaz, as well as the future.
The documentary was directed by Mikel Álvarez, producer Bira Produkzioak. He says it will be a documentary that will have a special place in his heart, as in the boys Loinaz is a festive dancer and Uncle Pasatxo. The proposal came from the group of Aurtzaka dances and from the beginning saw it clear that it was a project to be carried out.
So, after a few months, the audiovisual work is ready to complete and visualize it. The première will be on June 3. The first session is aimed at participants and guests, but tickets are exhausted. The official premiere will be on June 6 at 20:15 at the Teatro Usurbe. Tickets can be purchased at the box office and in kutxabank.
