- After the decision to pause in 2017 and with the aim of returning to the renovated in 2019, no edition of the Basque Country Live Festival was expected this year. But at the last minute, they decided to organize the EHZ Nomad.
The EHZ Festival will be transferred this year from the Garroa Castle in Lekorn to the three villages of the Northern Basque Country. The festival will take place on June 29th, 30th and July 1st in Baigor, Bayonne and Itsasun. The organizers highlight the nomadic character of this edition, with the intention of emphasizing that it is a year of transition.
For the past three or four years, the organizers have been immersed in the reflection of the festival, which has been going on for 22 years, and which led them to decide not to hold any festival this year due to the bad weather of last year and the economic problems caused by it. Since then they have continued to reflect on the project and have also taken on the work of collecting the reflections of the people.
The importance of keeping the appointment has been stressed by many participants in the reflection, which is why they have decided to organize the EHZ Nomada with the attempt to break the schemes with the new format. The organizers have expressed their desire to create new perspectives of permanence in time.
