Young people detained in Pamplona by the National Police continue to be detained

On Tuesday morning the news came from Pamplona: The operation was carried out by the National Police in the Rochapea district, and at least six of the young people arrested had been arrested. However, as the hours passed, the number of arrests increased, and at least 10 of them were reported to have been arrested in the evening.

A court in Pamplona has ordered the police operation and the detainees are charged with crimes of "public disorder" and belonging to a "criminal" organization. However, the arrest warrant, addressed to the relatives of the detainees, does not specify what actions these accusations are responding to. With regard to police sources, Efe has reported that the case is under secret summary.

In the context of the operation, records have been made in several housing units of the property. Computer equipment, rockets and stickers have been seized in the register, as reported by the Basque Department of Security.

Last night, the detainees were still unable to speak with trustworthy lawyers. They were originally expected to be made available to the courts today, but the police have informed the judge on duty that the arrest will take place tomorrow. In the meantime, they will remain in detention.

Show of solidarity

As soon as the arrests were made, there was a wave of messages of solidarity between different actors, collectives and individuals from all over the world. These solidarity gestures materialized in the concentration held on Tuesday afternoon in the Red Square of the Rochapea neighborhood. “Class solidarity in the face of attacks. Under the motto “Release the detainees!”, a multitude of people concentrated to show their revulsion at the arrests.

In solidarity with those who continue to be detained, the rally was reconvened this Wednesday at 20:00 a.m. in the same place.
