Theatres and cinemas have a capacity limited to 50%, which together with the expectation generated by the film has caused no more entries to watch the documentary in 2 years, 4 months and one day.
At 7:00 p.m., they will project the documentary on intransigence directed by Lander Garro, the last of the three premieres scheduled by the Donostia Film and Human Rights Festival – the autobiographical documentary on Ibon Casas Extinguishes the light and you will see and the other two screenings this week about Ernest Lluch, free and daring, killed by ETA.
The documentary directed by Garro tells the stories of six people who fought against the Compulsory Military Service in the year 2000. They were all imprisoned for refusing military service and, according to the documentary authors, “they all chose prison rather than the army.” However, among the reasons for resignation, those of each were very their own: pacifism, anarchist thought, patriotism or religious beliefs, among others.
“Why would you sacrifice 2 years and 4 months of your life?” the documentary asks the viewer, who spent that time in jail for those who decided to be uncompromising. Thanks to his struggle, the suspension of compulsory military service was achieved in the Spanish State.
