On Tuesday afternoon, Donostia Ander Mujika was released after being sentenced in full by the Spanish National Court to eight years in prison. France handed him over last Monday to Spain, where he is already in hospital.

Mujika, who was arrested in Cahors in 2007, is charged with ETA membership and firearms depot. The defendant, who was tried in Paris, has served the penalty in prisons of Saint-Martin-de-Re and Mont-de-Marsan, among others.

In 2017, Mujika's parents, his brother and his 5-year-old nephew suffered a traffic accident in front of Bordeaux when they were visiting Saint-Martin-d-R prison. In 2018, however, France, together with the prisoner Fermín Martínez Bergara, ordered Mujika to approach a prison closer to Euskal Herria, specifically Mont-de-Marsangora, 160 kilometers from Euskal Herria.

On April 10, a rally was held in the Donostia district of Gros to reclaim his move to the Mujika district and denounce his situation.
