The director of Emakunde, Izaskun Landaida, has underlined the vertex from which the association has approached prostitution: “She has approached prostitution from an individual and socio-community dimension of each woman’s personality and vital experiences, designing flexible strategies that try to respond to all this complexity.”

The Association of Employers of the Basque Country started in 1985. In addition to providing direct care, one of the objectives is to make visible in society the situations of discrimination and vulnerability of this group of women.

The direct services they offer address, inter alia, the prevention of violence suffered by prostitutes and the empowerment and training of prostitutes to have more opportunities and freedom of expression.

The Emakunde Prize for Equality 2020 will be awarded to Askabide at 11:00 in Lehendakaritza. The event can be followed live in Eitb.eus.
