EH Bildu has offered a press conference in Pamplona to explain the agreement with the PSN to table a motion of censure to modify the mayor.

Look at Zabaleta, general coordinator of EH Bildu in Navarra, has spoken first and said it is "very good news" from the start. He says that EH Bildu and PSN make a "shared diagnosis" of the current situation: That the municipal government of UPN was in a situation of "paralysis and blockade". Remember that they have been without a budget for five years. Thus, he has made it clear that "a new stage begins" for the city.

The agreement will focus on three axes, the first to turn Pamplona into "city for coexistence": "We are committed to promoting all those initiatives that contribute to making Pamplona a city of justice and memory repair," said Zabaleta.

They also undertake to promote the Basque language "as a minority language" and to take measures against male violence or to make a city "inclusive".

Secondly, several projects to improve the city have been agreed, among them the redevelopment of the Paseo de Sarasate and the intervention in the Monument to Falls, as well as sustainable mobility projects.

Finally, in Pamplona they want to start the way to approve the 2024 budgets "as soon as possible". "We believe it is a good agreement, it has served to build consensus between two such different political cultures."

Asiron: "It's an important stone."

Joseba Asiron then spoke: "Today is a very important day in Pamplona, we are laying an important stone for its future, we want to leave behind the years of paralysis and begin to respond to the needs of the people," he said.

The candidate says they maintain the same "illusion" they had on the first day and thanks "all the political and legal forces that have signed the motion of censure, as well as all the citizens who voted for us in the municipal elections".

Meetings with progressive political groups

He also announces that they will have "intense days" until 28 December and that they will meet with all progressive parties: "in order to complete the government's programmatic agreement."

In answer to the question of whether the PSN is going to participate in the municipal government, "it would seem very good" says Asiron, because in the last two legislatures they have done "intensive work", but it says that this will have to be answered by the PSN. However, if it did not enter now, it has appeared open to do so later, "there would be no problem."

In any case, Zabaleta made it clear that this is an "Agreement for Pamplona": "We would like to have happened before, but it's been now," he said. But the representative of EH Bildu has not confirmed that something similar can happen in other municipalities.
