- The environmental organization Eguzki has denounced the need to clarify what is happening in the Urumea River in Donostia. The animals found dead are not only birds, but also eels, of all dimensions.
The birds, especially wild mallard ducks, have appeared dead in the Urumea River, in Donostia-San Sebastián, in the Martutene area. In addition, some 50 eels have also appeared dead on 27 August. On 21 August, the Basque environmental organization Eguzki denounced the occurrence of dead aquatic birds.
Thanks to the cooperation of several people, we have been able to see that dead water birds are appearing in the Urumea River and in the Gladys Enea lagoon in San Sebastian. The environmental organization points out that on August 27 the cars of the Municipal Guard and the technicians of Diputación and URA were personaged. It also calls for research and clarification as to why birds and fish die in an area where animals have been killed.
