Coimbra and Rodrigo Guzmán, former Minister of Energy and former Minister of Justice, have maintained the same sentence as that received by former President Jeanine Añez.

Añez has stated that the Movement for Socialism (MAS) decides and the justice system abides by what he says. The former president has said that he is detained for a coup d ' état that did not occur in any other country.

Justice also seeks former Police Commander Yuri Calderón and former Armed Forces Commander Williams Kaliman Romero, among others, to perpetrate the murder.

After winning the October 2019 elections, Evo Morales received a coup in November of the same year, forcing him to exile, first in Mexico and then in Argentina.

Añez, former second vice-president of the Senate at the time, declared himself provisional president of Bolivia, in a legislative plenary without a quorum.

A year later, Bolivia went to a general election and won the current president, Luis Arce, the president of the Movement for Socialism, led by Morales.
