It is time that tickets were sold out for the concert that Anari Alberdi (1970, Peralta) will give after receiving the Rama Award. On Thursday, June 21, at 8:00 p.m., Anari will start the live broadcast that will review his career. He will be accompanied, as a guest, by several musicians with whom he has been close during his musical career. Such as Pello Ramírez, Xabier Strubell, Jon Barrios, Maite Arroitajaui Mursego, Petti, Beñardo Goietxe, Borja Iglesias or Ager Insunza.
Before the Victoria Eugeni concert, Anari will receive the award from the mayor of San Sebastián, Eneko Goia: Trophy made by the sculptor Marijose Rekalde based on his music.
This will be the fifth edition of the Rama Award. In the first edition, in 2014, Mikel Laboa was awarded; in 2015, Ruper Ordorika, in 2016 Benito Lertxundi and last year Fermin Muguruza. With this 2018 edition, Anari Alberdi becomes the first woman to receive the Rama Award.
The committee formed by the director of Tabakalera, Edurne Ormazabazal, the music promoter, Amaia Ispizua, and the technician of the Donostia Kultura Music Unit, Esther Fernandino, has awarded Anari this year’s Rama Prize for its contribution to the music of the Basque Country.
Although he took his first steps in the musical field as the drummer of Psych Out, in 1997 he debuted as a soloist with Anari, his homonymous album released under the label Esan Oz. This work has been followed by the albums Habiak (Esan Oz, 2000), Zebra (Metak, 2005), Isla Izan (Bidehuts, 2009), Tu Prehistory Penal (Bidehuts, 2015) and Un epilogo (Bidehuts, 2016). In addition to these works, the splite Anari and Petti (Metak, 2003), recorded with Petti, also includes three live albums:Anari at the Teatro Café Live (Bidehuts, 2008), 31 March 2007 at the Teatro Café de Bilbao (Bidehuts, 2007) and Camino y Tiempo (Bidehuts, 2013). He has also participated in several collections and collaborations.
He is also one of the creators of the Bidehuts disc label. In 2007, Anari and Lisabö, members of the Ero Ni and Hotel de Nino group, began the project with the intention of giving way to their works.
