The court reiterates the serious damage caused by asbestos to a worker and rejects Fagor Ederlan's appeal
  • Social Security recognized a worker the effects of asbestos on lung cancer and disability by 95%, but it was the company Fagor Ederlan that resorted. A court in Donostia-San Sebastian has rejected the appeal and the association of asbestos victims has asked the company to “abandon the inhuman policy of judicial remedies, ask for forgiveness for the damage caused and support the compensation fund”.

The Victims Association says that the resolution is clear: 1967-2007 Juan H. Worker P. worked with asbestos at the plants of the company Victorio Luzuriaga S.A., which has caused him an occupational disease. The association accused Fagor Ederlan of "lying blatantly" during the trial, as he claimed that the worker was not involved in asbestos.

“We call on Fagor Ederlan to put aside lies and inhumane judicial remedies. It is high time for companies that have not complied with health and safety measures to apologize for the health damage they have caused to their workers, to strengthen preventive measures and to get involved in the Compensation Fund to compensate victims,” said the victims’ association.
