- On Saturday, the central event commemorating the 500th anniversary of the resistance and destruction of the Castle of Amaiur, organized by the Association of Castles of Amaiur and the people of Amaiur and with the presence of representatives of various institutions, has been held.
They also wanted to recall that 100 years ago the monolith of Amaiur was built in 1922. This monolith was destroyed in the explosive in 1931 and reinauded in 1982 in an institutional act. On this occasion the highest authorities of the Government of Navarre, the Parliament of Navarre, the Basque Parliament, the Provincial Councils of Álava, Bizkaia and Gipuzkoa, as well as the parliamentarians and mayors and councillors of Navarre, have been present.
