The Altxa Burua Okondo group has recently been created for some families to reflect on the use of smartphones and propose to their parents that the age to have this device is consolidated for at least 16 years and progressively and accompanied by the child.
In fact, families have expressed concern about the impact of this type of technology on the educational development of children, as well as on the personal and emotional scope.
Specifically, one of the goals of Alxa Burua Okondo members is to reverse the current trend and delay the pressure to buy the first smartphone.
To do so, different paths will be worked out. Firstly, they want to communicate the negative effects of devices with Internet access at an early age. Likewise, this dissemination work aims to promote and agree on measures with schools to avoid harassment, cyberbulling and inappropriate content consumption.
In this effort, Alxa Burua Okondo wants to foster a collaborative relationship with the City Hall. "This movement is born in the state and aims to influence the government. We want to work with the Okondo City Hall."
They have also created the Telegram channel (AltxaburuaOkondo) and the postal address altxaburuaokondo@gmail.com to share their contents. They also have a website.
